Did you know powwows are annual events held in each First Nation community across Canada and everyone is invited to attend?  In and around the city of Sault Ste. Marie, there are four (4) powwows held annually, six (6) if you include the United States area just across the border and many others within a day’s drive of the city.

Even though powwows are festive celebrations, there are many sacred traditions and protocols that must be respected and adhered to when attending, especially as a guest in the community. 

Skoden Tours & Adventures will teach you proper powwow etiquette and rules to adhere to before attending.  We will teach you practices to follow for taking photography, approaching dancers, teachings behind regalia, songs and dances along with what to expect throughout the powwow weekend.
