The famous ruffed grouse, sometimes mistakenly referred to as partridge, is a land-based bird prominently found deep in the thick boreal forests of Northern Ontario.  Venture into the vast wilderness for an early autumn morning bird-hunt with the legendary “Grouse Slayer”.  This local legend will guide you to his top-secret hunting locations, where you are almost guaranteed to catch a glimpse of our ever-elusive feathered friend.  You do not need to ask IF you will spot one of these tasty bush chickens. The real question at hand…is your aim true!

Experience includes lesson on harvesting a bird (aim dependant) along with a guaranteed “Bush Chicken Caesar Salad” provided for lunch.

The Grouse Slayer can accommodate the following skill levels of hunter:

Level 1:  No hunting experience, guns or gun license necessary.  Grouse hunting is a great activity for beginners who want to try hunting and shooting guns for the first time!  Can accommodate up to 3 people. (No gun license or equipment needed. Proper gun safety training and shooting provided beforehand.)

Level 2:  You have some hunting experience but are not familiar with the area, or need some additional guidance in locating and harvesting the elusive ruffed grouse.  You may have your own hunting equipment and guns on-hand and looking for a guide around the Algoma area to bag your daily limit.

Level 3:  You probably have better hunting equipment than we do and just need someone to show you the area and stay out of your way.  The Grouse Slayer is your guy!  Can accommodate up to 4 people or guide larger groups who have their own reliable All-terrain vehicles and trucks to safely get in and out of the boreal forests of Northern Ontario.

Children 15 years and up, women, and first timers, everyone is welcomed.  Available from September 15th, - December 15th of the year.
