Whether you are looking for an urban biking guide to help you explore everything the city of Sault Ste. Marie has to offer or a guide to show you the mountain trails for a thrill-seeking ride through the breathtaking boreal forests surrounding the area, we got you covered.

URBAN OPTIONS

Downtown Waterfront

Includes tour of  downtown boardwalk, Roberta Bondar Pavilion and Marina, Clergue Park, Centennial Library and the Bushplane Museum.  Includes stop at The Tap Room for refreshments. 

Distance: 5.2 km

Difficulty:  Easy, no hills, all paved.

Whitefish Island

Includes tour of  Whitefish Island National Historic Site of Canada

Distance: 3.7 km

Difficulty:  Easy to medium, no hills, gravel trails.

Downtown Tour

Includes roundtrip tour of  downtown, between Gateway Casino and St. Mary's River Dr. Sites will include Soo Market, Sault Ste. Marie Museum, Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site, Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre, Reggie's Tavern, Mill Square, and the Art Gallery of Algoma. Includes a stop at The Tap Room for refreshments.

Distance: 6 km

Difficulty:  Easy to medium, no hills, gravel trails/paved roads.

John Rowswell Hub Trail Tour

Take a ride around the city of Sault Ste. Marie on the famous John Rowswell Hub Trail which totals 22 kilometres in length and takes you past famous city landmarks and parks such as the Old Stone House, downtown boardwalk, Fort Creek Conservation Area, Sault Area Hospital, Sault College, Algoma University and more.  Includes a stop at The Tap Room for refreshments.

Distance: 22 km

Difficulty: Medium

 

MOUNTAIN BIKE OPTIONS

Kinsmen Trails of Hiawatha Park

Includes mountain biking tour of Kinsmen Lighted Loop trail. Contact us to inquire about exploring additional trail systems within Hiawatha Highlands.

Difficulty:  Medium to hard, various hills, dirt trails

Hiawatha Highlands
